How microcurrent neurofeedback differs from EEG neurofeedback
EEG neurofeedback is a training practice in which a person watches or listens to feedback generated from their own brain activity and gradually shifts that activity through repeated practice, while microcurrent neurofeedback returns a brief low current signal through scalp sensors and asks nothing of the person at all.
Both read activity at the scalp. That shared starting point is most of what they have in common.
What is the core difference between the two methods?
In EEG neurofeedback the feedback goes to you. A display or a sound changes as your activity changes, and you learn over many sessions to hold the states that keep the feedback going.
In microcurrent neurofeedback the signal goes to the sensors. There is nothing for you to perceive or respond to, and nothing is being learned.

Do both methods measure the same thing?
Both read voltage at the scalp, and both readings are coarse for the same reason. Skull and skin sit between the sensor and the activity being recorded.
What differs is what the reading is used for. In EEG training it drives the feedback you experience. In a microcurrent session it guides where a practitioner places sensors next.
Is one method better supported by evidence?
EEG neurofeedback has a longer publication record, and parts of it are still argued over in the literature. Microcurrent approaches have far less published behind them, and what exists tends to be small.
A longer bibliography is not the same as a settled question. We keep a research section that covers both honestly rather than picking whichever framing suits a booking.
Why do the two share a name if they differ this much?
The word neurofeedback has widened over time to cover almost anything that reads brain activity and does something in response. That is convenient for marketing and unhelpful for buyers.
When you are comparing providers, ask what reaches you during a session and what you are expected to do. The answer separates the methods faster than the name on the door.
